32 Psalm                               Adam & Eve  [4004 BC]**

On day 6 God said, "Let us make man in our image."  God said "us" because Jesus and the Holy Spirit were there in the  beginning with Him. The Gospel of John, chapter 1, tells us that  1. In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2. The same was in the beginning with God. So, Jesus was with God creating our world. He also created YOU!  verse 3 says,  All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.
There will be many people who will tell you that God, did not create our world.  They will say that it all was a big  accident  -  a BIG BANG, they might call it.  Then, they say,  after the accident, everything just happened, "evolved".    But Jesus believed in the scriptures, not the BIG BANG theory or Darwin's evolution.  Jesus told his followers,  Matthew 5:18    "For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled."

A jot or tittle is like saying the dotting over the letter i and the crossing of the letter t.
Jesus is saying we can trust what the Bible tells us - even the smallest detail.  Now I think I will take what Jesus says as truth and trust what the Bible says about how our world was created.

Put the Creation Days in order.

Adam was the name given by God to the first man created on Day 6.   He was created from the dust of the earth and God breathed into Adam the breath of life.    Genesis chapter 2:
15. And the Lord God took the man, and put him into the garden of Eden to dress it and to keep it.
16. And the Lord God commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat:
17. But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die.
18. And the Lord God said, It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him an help meet for him.
19. And out of the ground the Lord God formed every beast of the field, and every fowl of the air; and brought them unto Adam to see what he would call them: and whatsoever Adam called every living creature, that was the name thereof.20. And Adam gave names to all cattle, and to the fowl of the air, and to every beast of the field; but for Adam there was not found an help meet for him.
21. And the Lord God caused a deep sleep to fall upon Adam, and he slept: and he took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh instead thereof;
22. And the rib, which the Lord God had taken from man, made he a woman, and brought her unto the man.
23. And Adam said, This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh: she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man.
24. Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh.

It's hard to imagine Adam and Eve giving up a perfect life with God just to eat forbidden fruit.   But isn't that just the same thing we do every time we sin.  Sin is doing anything that displeases God,  and we know when we sin, because we were created in the image of God, meaning we have the ability to chose between right and wrong, and a little voice inside us tells us when we are about to do something against God's wishes.

Adam and Eve chose to disobey God and so they no longer lived a perfect life in communion with God in the Garden of Eden.   But after sending them out of the Garden, God told Adam and Eve [Genesis 3;15]* that He already had a salvation plan that would defeat Satan and allow humankind to again walk in harmony with Him.   Adam and Eve didn't know what the plan was.  But we do.  It was that Jesus would die on the cross for our sins.

Ask God to forgive you, and tell God you want to dedicate your life to Him.  If you truly dedicate your life to Jesus, you will become close to God like Adam and Eve were in the Garden of Eden, before they disobeyed.     As a Christian you have the power of The Holy Spirit to help you resist committing new sin.  The Holy Spirit also helps you understand the Bible.  But the Holy Spirit will not fetch the Bible and bring it to you and make you read it.  Make time every day to study God's Word so the Holy Spirit can teach you how to be a better child of God.

Eve gave birth to a son they named Cain and then to a second son named Abel.  The two sons made an offering to God.  God accepted Abel's sacrifice of meat but not Cain's of grain.  Cain became jealous and killed his brother Abel.  God punished Cain sending him farther away from his home near Eden to become a wanderer.
When Adam and Eve were 130 years old God gave them another son, Seth.  Adam lived to age 930.  Seth lived to age 912.  Seth's great-great-great grandson Enoch,  was so devoted to serving God that at age 365 he was taken directly to be with the Lord.  Enoch's son Methuselah set the old-age record living to be 969 before dieing.

The Bible does not state specifically why God did not accept Cain's offering, but I think it's safe to say that Cain knew what God wanted and was trying to  substitute something else.   Like if you know God wants you to go to Church but you substitute reading a Bible verse, or watching a sermon on TV, instead.
Many Bible experts think God insisted on an animal sacrifice because animals have blood like humans.  God was letting people know, here at the beginning of time, that His plan to redeem man would require the shedding of blood.

Archaeological Evidence of Adam and Eve

To the left, is the Temptation Seal which according to many archaeologists is the oldest piece of art known to man.    It shows a snake behind a lady who is plucking fruit from a tree.  A man is to the right of the tree.  Scholars easily recognize this scene as a representation of the Biblical account of Adam of Eve given in Genesis chapter 3.  This ancient seal was found along with many other Babylonian clay tablets,
adam and eve seal.jpgand is now in the British Museum.
The seal to the right shows a naked man and woman walking dejectedly and followed by a serpent.   It was crafted sometime around the year 3,500 B. C.  It is now in the Philadelphia University Museum.  It most likely represents Adam and Eve as they are being cast out of the Garden of Eden.

*Genesis3:15. And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel.
